Custom Urns
Although there are products in my shop which can be purchased immediately, I offer the option for you to specify the shape, size and color(s) of your desired urn. You can also decide on the clay you prefer. ** Click on images below to see larger version **
Porcelain: The whitest, smoothest clay and one of the most expensive due to its purity. Ideal for urns unglazed on the outside. Treated with protective Renaissance Wax (used by museums to protect artefacts)
Black Porcelain: The smoothes black clay. Expensive due to its purity and addition of stains and oxides to achieve its colour. Ideal for urns unglazed on the outside. Treated with protective Renaissance Wax (used by museums to protect artefacts)
White Stoneware: Ideal for urns to be glazed both inside and out. Mid-range priced clay. Fires white
Black Stoneware: Ideal for urns needing no colour on the outside or maybe just a band of color to provde a contrast
Anthracite Clay: This clay has a very calm colour (pale donky brown) and can be glazed or unglazed but my preference is to show the colour of the clay itself. A coloured band of slip (stained liquid clay) can be used to give a contrast of colour.
Below you will see some of the commissioned "Custom Urns" I have made. These have been specified by the client and were based on their required size, colour or design. Please do contact me if you would like any size or shaped urn in your preferred colour way made for you.

Red Iron Ash Glaze
This was a particularly interesting commission. The client wanted some of the ashes incorporated in the urn. I made a red iron ash glaze in which I used some of the ashes, Very interesting effect where the glaze was applied thickly.
Unglazed White Stoneware
This urn was commissioned for the ashes of a large Poodle-cross. The specifications were that it be white and brown and be bottle shaped.

Burnished White Stoneware
This client wanted an indescrete 'C' inscribed on the pot to signify whose ashes it contained. They asked for it to be unglazed.
Brown and White Glaze
This client wanted brown to go with their decor but requested 'tears' to reflect their sadness at their loss

Brown and White Glaze
This was quite a funny specification. "I want a 'squat' urn and a 'chunky' one. I want it blue and brown but all mixed up as that is how she was." I am pleased to say they were delighted with it!
Black Glaze & Yellow Texture
This urn was made for a medium sized black dog who had a bright sunny attitude. The specifictions were that it shouldn't be too tall!

Matt White Glaze with Grey over
This was one that has a glass marble as a stoopper.
